1986 verließ Mariah die Schule & jobbte in New York City als Kellnerin, Garderobiere & versuchte nebenbei als Sängerin Fuß zu fassen.

1988 wurde Columbia Manager Thomas Mottola auf Mariah aufmerksam &

nahm sie unter Vertrag.

1990 erschien ihr Debüt- Album "Mariah Carey".

1993 heiratete sie ihren Manager Thomas Mottola &

1997 ließen sie sich scheiden. Bis

1999 brachte sie 9 Alben heraus die sich 122 Millionen mal verkauften.

2003 absolvierte Mariah Carey eine große Welttournee.

2009 sang sie auf der Trauerfeier von Michael Jackson.
